Bottom's Up (Texas Beer Summit)
I suppose this image was inspired by the much hyped Obama "Beer Summit." It's probably a more common sight here in Texas than in D. C.
Cash for Clunkers
We traded the old Suburban with 285,000 miles on it for a new little car for my daughter, Olivia. This image is more symbolic of the event than an actual documentation of said event.
Daisy Finds the Mud Hole
As I was leaving the art show at Lavender Ridge Farms, Daisy was playing in the mud hole with a stick. I actually had my camera within reach as I spotted her and got the shot off just at the right moment.
No More Pictures, Grandad!
This 6" x 8" original oil on canvas panel is of my precious granddaughter, Lilly, from a photograph that I took on her 2nd birthday. She finally had enough of the "posed" pictures and was ready to go back in the house. I think this was the best one of all.
Star Pitcher
12" x 12" x 1 1/2" original oil on gallery warpped canvas, the chair was inherited from my aunt and the pitcher was inspired by an inheritance from my mom.
Montague ISD Eagle Mural and Sign
The sign and eagle image are about 28 feel long. The M and the ISD are 4 feet tall. The hardest part was climbing up and down the ladder and scaffold. It was a fun project, but not without some aches and pains afterwards.
Amarillo Sunset

One of my favorite places to stop on the way to the slopes of New Mexico is the Cadillac Ranch just west of Amarillo. Stanley Marsh 3 and a group of artists called the Ant Farm created this iconic art piece (and I do use the term loosely) by burying 10 Cadillacs nose down in the ground of a wheat field. As I understand, they have moved it at least once due to the urban sprawl of the city. Here I have commemorated 3's creativity to the West Texas Panhandle/Plains art scene.

Texas Heat in the Land of the Mesquite

The temperature has been over 100 degrees every day now for about 2 weeks. Hot, hot, hot!
This 6" x 8" one-of-a-kind original oil painting on a canvas panel is part of my "Postcards from Texas" series. I have painted a different one this size almost every week for over 2 years. About 3 out of every 4 that I have painted are sold to folks around the country who seem to like my work. Subscribe to my "Postcards from Texas" and receive my latest original painting in your e-mail box on a weekly basis. Just e-mail me at lglemonsartist@aol.com and type the word "subscribe" in the subject box. The subscription is free!
